Today’s announcement that Victoria will be going into Stage 4 lockdown from midnight tonight has, understandably, generated many questions and some anxiety about the impact on the care that we will be able to provide. People are also unsure about what to do regarding their appointments with us. We would like to reassure you that we have been in this position before and have safely looked after our patients throughout their pregnancy or with their gynaecological care.
For outpatient appointments, patients will need to attend alone. Partners or support people are welcome to participate remotely in appointments via FaceTime or a similar platform.
If you have a postnatal appointment during this lockdown and would like to conduct it via telehealth rather than face-to-face, please let us know.
Some gynaecological patients may be able to have a video or telehealth appointment. We will be in contact with those patients early next week; alternatively, please feel free to call us on 9348 1110.
As a result of the lockdown announcement, Frances Perry House has changed its visitor policy from midnight Friday 12 February to 11:59pm on Wednesday 17 February.
- NICU and Special Care Nursery – One parent/guardian only, with no time limit. No other visitors allowed.
- NEW: Birth Centre – One birth partner during labour and birth, no time limit. No other visitors allowed.
- NEW: All maternity wards – One birth partner, with no time limit. No other visitors allowed.
We will update you all when more information is available. We remain committed to doing everything we can to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our patients, their families and our staff.
