Visitor policy

This week’s easing of some coronavirus-related restrictions has prompted many enquiries about our visitor policy. WOGS follow the guidelines of The Royal Women’s Hospital and, at the moment, no changes to their arrangements for visitors have been made. This is due to the fact that the Women’s is still required to limit the numbers of people who enter the hospital site so that safe levels of physical distancing can be maintained.

As a reminder, our current visitor policy stipulates that:
– Patients are required to attend appointments on their own, but we welcome partners/support people participating via FaceTime.
– Women in labour may have one designated support person (if they leave hospital premises, they qualify as a visitor and may then visit for two hours per day).
The full Royal Women’s Hospital visitor policy can be viewed at https://www.thewomens.org.au/…/new-visitor-guidelines
We remain committed to doing everything we can to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our patients, their families and our own staff.
We will update you all as soon as the situation changes, and we would like to thank you for your understanding.
