Screening on admission

Frances Perry House has announced the following patient admission screening guidelines.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
➡️ Elective and emergency gynaecological surgery and Caesarean section patients⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Pre-operative screening – all elective and emergency surgical patients will be screened on admission with a rapid antigen test. This applies to elective Caesarean patients.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Patients with their own rapid antigen test kit can perform the test prior to arriving at the hospital and take a photo of the result to show staff on admission.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• If a patient tests positive for Covid, their surgery will be rescheduled for after they are cleared from isolation and are well.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
➡️ Obstetric patients⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• All patients admitted to the Birth Suite for delivery will be tested with a rapid antigen test on admission.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Vaccinated birth support partners will not be tested with a rapid antigen kit on admission but must wear a mask when staff are present in the room.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Unvaccinated birth support partners will be tested with a rapid antigen kit on admission and must wear a mask when staff are present in the room.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
