Introducing Cara – our newest midwife!
We’d like to welcome, Cara, our newest midwife, to the WOGS team. Here, she tells us a little bit about herself.
“I love being a midwife. In my years at Frances Perry House, I’ve worked in the birthing suite, postnatal ward, breastfeeding room and antenatal ward.
I am also an antenatal educator, and I believe in helping parents feel more confident in labour and birth and during the postpartum period, a time that is best described as “joyous, vulnerable and unique”.
After the birth of our son, Ethan, I focused on supporting families postnatally and studied newborn behaviour and newborn/toddler sleep and development. I offer guidance to new parents as they adapt to their new roles and help them to build a positive parent-infant relationship.
Outside of work, my family and I travel to the Peninsula as often as we can. My happy place is by the beach and my aim is to get into surfing.
I am so excited to have been asked to be the newest WOGS midwife, and I look forward to bringing my passion for supporting the family unit to the practice.”
