The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and the national vaccine advisory group ATAGI have revised their recommendations for COVID-19 vaccinations and pregnant women.

All pregnant women are now being encouraged to have the Pfizer vaccine at any stage of their pregnancy.

Global surveillance data have not identified any significant safety concerns with COVID-19 vaccines given at any stage of pregnancy. There is also evidence that the vaccine may offer protection to infants through passive immunity.
