Patient Education

WOMEN’S OBSTETRIC & GYNAECOLOGY SPECIALISTS
Antenatal education is essential to ensure that our patients, their partners and other support people are informed and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. That’s why we offer all our new patients an appointment with one of our midwives to help formulate a personalised antenatal education plan.
There are a large range of educational options for patients, including information provided by our doctors, online Zoom classes through Frances Perry House, alternative class options such as ‘Calm Birth’ courses and pre-recorded online education. Our midwives will assess the patient’s individual needs and assist in arranging the education package that is most appropriate. After completing classes, we encourage all our patients to discuss their birth preferences with their primary obstetrician.

Frances Perry House also offers access to an excellent baby safety course by Dr Rosemarie Boland, which many of our patients choose to complete prior to the birth of their baby.
