Covid-19 update - testing
The COVID-19 pandemic has made it necessary for all maternity patients and their partners/support people to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission to Frances Perry House.

From Monday 3 August 2020:
Pregnant patients are required to have a COVID-19 swab at 38 weeks’ gestation and are then requested to self-isolate until delivery.

Partners/support people must also have a COVID-19 swab at this time and are then advised to self-isolate. If this is not possible, we ask that they:
1. wear a mask whenever they leave the house
2. physically distance themselves 1.5m from others
3. practise good hand hygiene.

All patients (and their partners/support people) with Booked Inductions and elective Caesarean Sections are also required to have a repeat COVID-19 swab 3 days prior to admission.

For patients and their partners/support person,  a COVID-19 swab centre will be located at the below address (across the road from the The Royal Women’s Hospital) . Look for the sign that says ‘Frances Perry House – Preadmission Service’.
This will be a drop-in service, so no appointment is necessary.

Suite 212-213, Level 2
55 Flemington Road
North Melbourne VIC 3051
Hours of Operation: 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday; 8am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday

Partners/support people can also have their swab done at a Dorevitch Pathology collection centre. Our staff will provide a referral if required.

Our staff will contact you to help guide you through the new requirements. We would like to assure you that you will receive the same high level of care regardless of your COVID-19 test result.

WOGS and Frances Perry House share a commitment to doing everything we can to protect the health and safety of our patients and staff during the pandemic. We are very grateful for your cooperation during these challenging times.
