Dr Kimberley Norton-Old is a Gynaecology and Fertility Specialist and works also as a consultant at The Royal Women’s Hospital. She has advanced clinical expertise in general gynaecological conditions, particularly gynaecological surgery (minimally invasive/ laparoscopic, open and hysteroscopic), fertility, colposcopy, vulval disorders and menopause. 

Dr Kim’s philosophy pairs clinical excellence and evidence-based medicine with genuine care and empathy – seeking to understand the whole picture and ensuring each patient feels heard, believed and supported. Her strong focus on clear communication, comprehensive education and informed decision-making empowers patients to feel confident in their personalised and holistic care plan. 

Dr Kim holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Anatomy from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Honours from Notre Dame University, Fremantle. She completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The Royal Women’s Hospital, Parkville. Her career highlights include a Gynaecology Oncology Fellowship year at the Royal Hobart Hospital, leadership as the Principle Senior Registrar at the Royal Women’s Hospital with involvement in clinical governance and mentoring junior trainees and a Masters in Reproductive Medicine from the University of Sydney.  

Dr Kim’s full gynaecological services include management of: 

  • Ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis 
  • Hysterectomy (laparoscopic or open) 
  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), heavy/ painful periods, painful intercourse
  • Vulval conditions and vulvodynia 
  • Colposcopy, abnormal cervical screening tests (pap smears), treatment for cervix precancers
  • Contraception (reversible and irreversible including tubal ligation) 
  • Perimenopause, menopause
  • Miscarriage, MTOP/STOP and sexual health 

Dr Kim also specialises in fertility services and works with Number One Fertility offering:

  • Preconception care
  • Fertility assessments
  • Ovulation induction
  • Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
  • Egg Freezing – Fertility Preservation 

Dr Kim is ready to guide you through each stage of your women’s health journey including your path to parenthood. She consults both Gynaecology and Fertility patients at the Women’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialists rooms on level 2 of Frances Perry House. 

Outside of work, she enjoys weekends away to Sorrento and Aireys Inlet with her family and running with her border collie.
